I am starting to feel more like a weather presenter than a Nordic Walking Instructor! Thank you everyone for your patience with the last minute changes due Mother Nature’s continue’d wintry rage. Let’s hope March starts and finish like a meek lamb, a spin on the old quote! We do not need anymore lions!
The good news is that Maria’s has finally started her chemo treatment and can start the long journey towards improving her quality of life. However, There is a busy weekly hospital appointments schedule that may mean some walks will have to be cancelled. The pattern to her WALX schedule will be to either walk morning, afternoon or evening. This allows her hospital visit time too. We shall do our utmost to avoid too many disruptions. Thank you to everyone who have travelled out to our other WALX. You have certainly enjoyed the change of scenery and seeing new faces.
Some sad news for our Walk Leader, Rachel, as her Mum, Jo, died peacefully in her sleep last Saturday morning. She suffered with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimers. Jo did join us for the Christmas Wreath workshop and she also loved Nordic Walking. Instead of sending flowers for the funeral we are asking for you to make a small donation to the Snowdon Challenge that Rachel is undertaking on the 29th May. Click here for the link.
Thank you to our all our fabulous WALX Guides, Carol, Charlotte, Rachel and Janet, who have been an enormous help carrying on the WALX covering for Janine, Carla and Maria. Your energy, humour and enthusiasm is loved by the membership.
If you are interested in helping as a WALX Guide please do message Janine.
We sent out a separate notice regarding Corona Virus on the 26th February. Please do have a read. These are our guidelines that we ask you to follow to do our bit to curb the spread of the virus. If you are in any doubt as to whether you have it check this poster and dial 111. Do not go to the Doctors or a hospital until you have received their advice. Talk before you Walk.
Please do share this newsletter with friends and family. We’d love to see more people out with us. Who would you like to help enjoy not just the fresh air fitness benefits of WALX but also the social fun and smileage?
